FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Pet Cremation FAQ

Everything you need to know about pet cremation.

  • If I’ve had my pet euthanized at a veterinarian, do I have to use their cremation provider or can I choose to use someone else for the cremation?

It is perfectly ok to use a different cremation provider. Just simply let the veterinarian know and they can place your pet on hold while you make other arrangements. Many veterinarians will store your pet in cool preservation until you have decided to take them elsewhere or have a cremation provider pick them up (Verify the number of days they are able to hold your pet).

  • If I’ve had my pet euthanized at my house by a home euthanasia group, do they have to take my pet away to their cremation provider or can I contact a different cremation service company?

Again, it is totally okay to have your own preferences and make your own decision about cremation — you do not have to use the cremation provider they are partnered with.

  • What if I had a euthanasia appointment scheduled and my pet passed on their own before the appointment — what should I do?

At this point, notify the euthanasia group of the situation and feel free to contact a cremation provider of your choosing in order to proceed.

  • What is the typical turnaround time for cremation services?

We often estimate about 7-10 days before we contact you. This timeline could extend if a custom urn or special merchandise item has been ordered.

  • What happens to my pet until they are cremated?

They will be placed in cool preservation until the time of their cremation. This helps preserve their body and dignity until they go into the

    machine/retort for cremation.

  • How do I know that my pet is kept separate and not mixed up with other animals?

From the moment we bring your pet into our care, there is a case number assigned to them and a metal identification tag that follows them throughout our entire process. That metal coin tag goes with them into the machine and is taken out with them and is attached to your pets sealed bag of cremains when everything is complete (Not applicable when communal cremation is selected).

  • If I do not want an urn for my pet, how will I receive the cremated remains?

The remains will be sealed in a plastic bag and securely placed in a green velvet drawstring bag
